UX + UI
In 2017 I took on a freelance project to help Rose & Abbot with their custom skincare quiz, which formulates a custom moisturizer based on the users skin type, behavior, and lifestyle.
They had the formulation matrix worked out, but needed help translating it into a more user friendly quiz format.
Houston, we have some problems...
With a growing number of skincare products and brands, consumers have an overwhelming options to choose from.
They don’t necessarily know which products would be the best for their skin and are often unaware of the ingredients’ impact on their skin.
Skincare routines are extremely personal, and people want products that reflect that. In fact, 80% of shoppers are more likely to buy from a company that offers personalized experiences.(Source)
R&A takes away the stress and guesswork that comes with picking the right skincare products by severely reducing optionality.
This quiz acts as a concierge service, providing each user with one perfect product that meets their unique needs.
We mapped skin type, skin issues, behavior, and lifestyle questions to match to a matrix of formulation options.
When users complete the quiz they get one unique moisturizer out of more than 10,000 possible combinations.
We ask customers a lot of questions in this quiz. We should make sure that in the end, the user feels like we've listened and that their needs have been met.
The results page was designed to touch back on the concerns highlighted in the quiz and explain how the resulting moisturizer addresses those concerns.
